Drip dry puppies?

WhoLettheDogsOut

Someone must have been on a spree. I wonder if they washed the puppies and left them out to dry? That’s what it looks like to me. Poor things look kind of helpless hanging on the line don’t they?

I’d like to take a moment and thank all of my readers for their visits this past year, and to wish all of you –

Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas and Happy kwanzaa!
Enjoy the holiday and stay safe.

Keep your kids safe by using a keystroke recorder

December 23, 2006 by Tricia

Have you ever wondered just what your kids are doing on their computers when they are in their rooms with the door closed … or maybe when they are home before you get home to monitor their computer use? Maybe you even wonder what your spouse does on the computer?

Now I don’t want to bring up anti-trust issues but sometimes there is a need to know what’s going on in your own home. You might want to keep track of the sites your kids visit for their own good. They could be talking with strangers on Myspace or other sites that want to do them harm.

This is where a software device called the keystroke recorder comes in handy. You can track everything from every thing input into a keyboard- emails, things filled out on websites, or even passwords, and you can see what sites were visited as well. If you are interested in learning more visit the Spectorsoft site and read all about their keystroke recorder.

Too much information …

December 23, 2006 by Tricia

Oh no! I’ve been tagged! Skeet from the forum decided to bestow a “Five things we didn’t know about you” meme on me.

I’m trying to think of what I could possibly tell you that if haven’t already written about somewhere on this blog?

1. I think that overall I’m a very positive person. I try to see the bright side of pretty much any kind of situation. I mean, I’m sitting here thinking, wow, I’ve been off work because of my illness for almost 13 months – and I wasn’t doing very well being on and off work for a year before that – yet I’m not falling apart or bogged down by depression. I find something that makes me happy every day.

2. I’m also just astounded when someone does something kind hearted out of the blue – and you know, people do nice things for me all the time, but it still blows me away. It could be something small that others might not even realize was an act of kindness – perhaps not even the person that did the deed, but I notice.

3. I’m not really very fond of shopping. I know – that’s probably unusual for a woman, but it’s true. However, there’s times when I’m shopping and I just keep finding things that I want and if it’s clothes that fit right and look good and I’ll buy as much as I can, ’cause I have no idea when I’ll be on such a role again.

There are certain stores where I could always easily find things to purchase. One of those would be stores that are full of accessories for the home – like Linens and Things, The Home Store, or any kitchen gadget type store. I love looking at all the little gadgets that would make my life so much easier if I’d just buy them and fill my cupboards and shelves full of them.

Oh and then there’s the pottery. Anything pottery draws me to it like a magnet. It could be anything from pottery dinnerware to hand crafted one of a kind vases, or serving platters. I really should take some pottery making lessons and see if I’m any good at it since I love the stuff so much.

4. As positive as I think I am, I can also be very nit picky and get irritated easily, particularly towards loved ones. For example, my husband is a very good musician, but when he picks up his guitar while we’re watching TV, or maybe while I’m trying to write a post and starts playing, it just drives me nuts. I don’t want to stop him from playing since I know it’s something he enjoys, but I wish he’d have better timing about when he plays.

5. Ok now, this one is embarrassing, but I’ll know if you read it if I get some comments on it. I’ve been really foul that last couple of days. By this I mean gassy. You’d think with the Crohns that yes maybe that might be a problem, but it’s not usually for me. I rarely seem to get gas, and if I do it almost never smells, or if it does it’s only a little bit off.

But I don’t know man, the last couple of days it seems like something must have died inside me. I’m sitting here writing up my posts and I must have a build up or something, because I’ll occasionally have to pass some gas. It’s so so so very bad! It’s killing me. I mean when it’s your own and it makes you almost pass out from the smell, it’s gotta be bad bad bad. LOL UPDATE – I wrote this a couple of days ago, I’m thankful that I no longer seem to have this problem! So is my husband. LOL

Oh yeah, did I tell you I’m a very honest person?

Was that TMI or what?

Create a wishlist for the gift items you desire

December 22, 2006 by Tricia

Now this sounds like an interesting idea. Have you ever been planning a party for someone, possibly an anniversary, a shower, a baby shower, birthday, or graduation party? People often want or are required to bring gifts for these types of parties but sometimes it’s hard to let everyone know what the person you are holding the party for needs.

Well, Wishbin.com, has create a site that allows you to create and organize as many wish lists as you like. If you have an event coming up for yourself- say you are pregnant and the babies due in a couple of months, you suspect that your best friend will have a baby shower for you – why not be proactive and create a baby gift registry wish list? The site lists products from well known online retailers such as Amazon, Target, Banana Republic, and Best Buy, and all one needs to do is add products that they’d like to receive to their list as they browse the site. The list can even be downloaded and placed on a website for all to see so that when you send out invitations for that special party you can direct the guests to visit the site where you posted the wishlist.

I just thought of another use for the wishlist too. You can create multiple lists on the site. Why not create lists for your loved ones and as you learn what items they’d like to receive for their birthday or Christmas you could add the product to the list. As their special day approaches you can just look at the lists and select a gift to give to your loved one.

Check out the Wishlist.com site and see what you think. Now, hmm, maybe I should create one and put it on my site so that you’ll all know what you can get me if you’re feeling generous. LOL

Sore Loser

December 22, 2006 by Tricia

I’m totally out of it after the race to put together the puzzle. I had massive internet connection problems from 3 pm Thursday until sometime this afternoon, so in the final portion of the puzzle race I was fighting an internet connection that was slower than a dial up connection. It’s a wonder that I even managed to collect all the puzzle pieces and post my completed puzzle within a few minutes of the end of the contest. Yes, it was close!

I paid the price though. I was up from Wednesday Morning until 2 am Thursday puzzle hunting. Then I slept from 2 am until 5:30 am this morning and then got up to hunt for the final two puzzle pieces. The contest ended at about 11:45 when Colleen beat me and a few others by submitting the puzzle first. I crashed on the couch at 1:30 pm or so and woke up a bit after 4 pm. I guess today, in two short periods of sleep I kind of caught up, but I feel terrible. I’m wiped out, my eyes are burning, I’m light headed and my abdomen is aching like crazy. Yeah- when I don’t manage to get some sleep the Crohns really flares.

Thanks Ted for dragging out the contest. LOL Now it’s going to take me a week or two to recover ’cause I think it made my Crohns flare worse. I wish I wouldn’t jump at challenges the way I do. I’m a total A type personality. Of course I was taunted with the possibility of winning $1000 and if you’ve been reading this site for anytime you know I’m not working because of the Crohns so I really did need that money. That’s why I pushed myself so hard. I’m going to pay for it.

Two very kind people helped me at one point or another during the contest. I won’t mention their names here just in case they don’t want others to know, but I will say that I totally appreciate their help and kindness and I’ll try to help them out in some way in the future. Thank you!
