The exploding steamer

December 1, 2006 by Tricia

Did you know that Richard Simmons – the exercise and diet guru?- is selling steamers now?

I don’t know when he started doing this but I found a video of him on the David Letterman show demonstrating his new steamer. It looks like an interesting product since you can cook a whole meal in one machine since it has three separate steaming compartments.

Unfortunately I’m not sure if he just had a bad product with him when he went on the Letterman show, or if the product in general is flawed. Either way, when he started it up for Dave it ended up exploding!

See for yourself!

Green with envy

December 1, 2006 by Tricia

Oh my gosh! I’m so jealous! Do you remember I told you that a friend of mine, a nurse, had moved to California to take a job there? She just sent me photos of her new home! It’s fantastic, four bedrooms, a pool in the backyard with a nice garden, a huge kitchen. I must go and visit her soon.

She also told me that her broker with real estate La Jolla was great, putting up with her indecision over homes and taking her out almost every day to show her homes that fit into what she was looking for. Our real estate agent was like that too and we even became friends after spending so much time together looking at houses.

Oh I am so going to visit my friend in the new year. Her new house has a great view and she’s near the beach. Ah, what I wouldn’t do for a great Californian holiday right now.

Cash back for shopping online

December 1, 2006 by Tricia

I just came across yet another site that offers cash back to consumers when they make purchases online. It sounds like a great idea. Now if I just had some money to spend so that I could get some cash back. LOL

Ebates has even been discussed on CNN and has been called a “No-Brainer”. There are more than 800 name brand stores for you to shop from. Stores such as Circuit City, Office Depot, Barnes & Noble, and Target plus many more. You must become a registered member in order to use the Ebates site but it’s completely free as there is no cost for membership.

The site is an online shopping portal, where members save at least 5% on each purchase they make at participating online stores. They can even save up to 25% at some stores. Savy shoppers can browse through the stores and find the best deals with the latest online coupons. The next time that I need to do some online shopping I’ll be visiting Ebates and hopefully I’ll get lucky and find some of the 25% of deals.
