Learn how to raise your credit rating

December 15, 2006 by Tricia

I’ve just been introduced to a website that can help you raise your credit score by up to 200 points. The site has apparently even been discussed in the Wall Street Journal. Seasoned Trades offers a five step program that will help you raise your credit level within 90 days. This could be extremely helpful for anyone who’s maxed out their credit cards and ended up having them canceled as a result, or defaulted on payments or perhaps even filled for bankruptcy at one point in the past.

I know that I could probably have used some of this advice a number of years ago. Way back when I was just starting my jewelry business I was so short on cash I lived on my credit cards and totally maxed them out. Of course I couldn’t pay the minimum payments either so I ended up with canceled cards and big bills. It was terrible. And even though I hadn’t used a credit card in 15 years or so and had paid all my past bills many years before – my past poor credit history came back to haunt me when we were purchasing this house. I had to prove that I’d paid American Express something like 15 years before. I didn’t have the paperwork to back up my claim anymore. They said that I’d never paid and that they’d been trying to contact me for years. Odd … I hadn’t moved in that whole time, if they’d really wanted to get in touch with me I think they could easily have by sending me a letter. Funny how things like that work. Anyway, before we could get approved for our mortgage I ended up having to pay off American Express AGAIN. I swear I will never use one of their credit cards again and I’m very careful about how we use our credit cards now.

Anyway, If I’d known more about correcting my credit history at that time none of what I’ve just told you would have happened. I would have known to check my credit report shortly after paying off my overdue bills to be sure that everything was listed correctly.

Seasoned Trades can help you NOT fall into some of the problems that I experience and the information on the site can help you fix your credit rating with their methods. Visit the site and learn how to improve your credit rating.

Planning your wedding?

December 15, 2006 by Tricia

This is the time of year when many couples end up getting engaged, and you know what happens almost immediately, sometimes minutes, after the proposal happens don’t you? The wedding planning begins. Am I right? Of course I am, I did it myself when I got engaged.

Once the wedding planning begins the bride to be’s mind will start to think of first where to get married, then who to invite and eventually somewhere along that long line of planning she’ll wonder what wedding favors she might give her guests.

Perhaps when she does start to think of what kinds of gifts to give her guests she might decide to take a look at Cheap Wedding Favors. This online store touts itself as an “Internet Wedding Superstore”. It has inexpensive personalized wedding favors for the guests, as well as for groomsmen and bridesmaids. You can have many of the items personalized at no extra charge.

There’s even cute novelty wear like the Soon to be Mrs. hoodie that can be personalized with the name the bride to be will take when she gets married. Visit the site if you or someone you know is planning their wedding.

Compare Insurance companies in the UK

December 15, 2006 by Tricia

I thought that some of my UK readers might be interested in learning about this site that lets you compare Driver Insurance rates throughout all of the UK. I know that when looking for insurance it can be hard to find just the right type suited to your needs and it’s certainly nice when you come across information put out by a company that gives you articles on the various insurance companies and on the various types of insurance available.

That’s how I secured our insurance for our car when I was looking a few years ago. I’d found a Canadian based site that let me compare and it worked out perfectly for us. That’s why I know my UK readers will appreciate the information that this UK based website provides.

The company that runs the site, Choose Insurance, offers their unbiased opinion on the various products. They are not paid by any insurance company for their opinion so the information that you get from this site is reliable and trustworthy. They even go so far as to offer free legal services and advice to people that have had a hard time with claims that they’ve issued with their insurance companies or claims that have been denied.

Looking through the site I see that you can compare insurance offerings for Car and Van, Home and Contents, Life Insurance, Travel, Young Drivers and Over 50’s, plus there is also an insurance section for Convicted drivers. Just choose what type of insurance you are looking for and scroll through the various listings to find an insurance company that suits your needs.

You know what I’ve been doing this week?

December 15, 2006 by Tricia

Guess what I’ve been doing in what little spare time I’ve had this week? I’ve been surfing, surfing, surfing over at blogadvance. Actually I’ve been trying to type my posts and surf at the same time- not an easy task to do, not at all.

Blogadvance has been having a contest this month and they are going to give the top surfer $100. The contest ends today, and as I type this at 3 a.m. I’m in second place and closing fast.

Wish me luck! I should know sometime later today if I won or not. I could certainly use the money if I do.

Update:

I stayed up until 7 a.m. clicking away but my opponent was clicking too. We were about 500 points apart all night. I finally went to bed. My husband got up and started surfing for me at about 9 a.m. but my opponent hadn’t stopped. He woke me at 10 am to tell me he thought it was a losing battle. She was more than 700 points ahead of us and it takes about an hour to collect between 120 and 150 credits. The contest was to end at 12 noon. We conceded the race.

I could have used that $100 though. 🙁

Chicago Cubs spring training

December 15, 2006 by Tricia

Remember I was talking about how my family – siblings and their spouses – get together every year for some family related activity or holiday? I mentioned it in a post a couple of months back. Well my brother and his wife are baseball fanatics and they suggested that we go to the US and catch some of the major leagues spring training camps while we are there. Everyone has agreed. So that’s what we’re going to do.

We’re thinking about getting some Spring Training tickets to the Chicago Cubs spring training. They train in what is known as the “Cactus Leagues” Most of their games at the beginning of March are in Mesa or Phoenix Arizona which is fantastic because I’ve always wanted to go to Arizona. In Mesa the games are going to be held in Hohokam Park and the best seats for those games are right behind Home plate in section 100 row L. I think those will be the seats we try to get.

Wish us luck! I guess we’ll know in a few weeks if we are definitely going and we’ll try to get the best seats if possible.
