Bluebox image compression software

December 14, 2006 by Tricia

I just came across and interesting new product called BlueBox. The company says “If you have a digital camera you need this product.” . Alright – I guess I’m one of the people that need this product. What does it do?

It’s a software product that lets you compress and encrypt images and text. The Bluebox software can compress over 480 different types of image formats including the most popularly used ones like JPEG, TIFF, and BMP. It will compress the files up to 95%.

Why would this come in handy? Well, I don’t know if you’re like me, but when you take a photo digitally you might set your camera to take the best quality photo that it can. Have you ever noticed the file sizes on those photos once you load them onto your computer? Yeah, their huge, 1 or 2 MB or more. Run them through photoshop and add some special effects to the photos and they only getting larger in file size unless you end up making the image smaller.

Again, if you’re like me, once you’ve fiddled with your photos you want someone to see them, so you send them to friends and relatives by email or upload them onto free photo display sites like flickr etc. It can take forever to send an email with a large file in it … and to make matters worse, if the person to whom you are sending the photo too has a small or fairly full mailbox sometimes they don’t end up getting the photo at all because their inbox couldn’t accept it because the email was too large.

It’s frustrating isn’t it?

Well that’s what BlueBox has come along to solve. Simple compress your photos or large text based files prior to sending them to someone via email or uploading them onto a site and TADA the file size is drastically reduced and much easier to transmit.

You can save up to 20 times more data on your hard drive and memory devices when using this compression software. Also, the compression technology doesn’t alter your original image. It’s easy to use too. Just drag and drop your images into BlueBox and they’ll be compressed to a fraction of their original size, and stored in a secure and encrypted box. Learn more about this amazing new software program at the BlueBox website.
