Starting a Hosting company is easier than ever

November 23, 2006 by Tricia

Have you ever thought of starting your own hosting company? Perhaps you are using a free hosting blog service right now but you’ve been thinking of taking the big step of using a hosting site and purchasing your own domain? Why not take it one step further by doing that and starting your own hosting company?

Hosterio makes it easy to set up your own Reseller Web Hosting business. Put it this way, to start your own hosting company you need a Hosting website, a way to charge your clients such as a billing Manager to manage your clients, orders and enabling you to accept online orders, a support ticketing Manager to provide support to your clients, a merchant Account, and a Reseller Hosting Package. The good news is that the first four items in the list of what you need are included when you choose your Reseller hosting package.

It’s that easy. Every single thing you need is in the Reseller hosting package. All you have to do is choose which type of reseller package you’d like.

The lowest priced package gives you 500 MB of disk space and 5000 MB of data transfer and 5 domain/accounts with a private label, plus all of the features that your clients will need from email accounts to c-panel to control their own websites and domains, all for only $77.77 US per year. The highest priced package offers you 10000 MB disk space, and 75000 MB of data transfer, and an unlimited number of Domain/accounts for the low price of only $242.22 US per year. All accounts come with 24/7 support.

As some of you know I’m starting a part time web designing business and getting my own hosting Reseller account might be something that would be beneficial to my company and clients in the future. The prices and features that hosterio sound pretty good to me.

Now I’m hungry

November 23, 2006 by Tricia

I just finished writing my Thursday Thirteen post and I have to tell you – it’s made me very hungry. You’ll see what I mean shortly when I post it.

Does this every happen to you? Your surfing the net, reading blogs and all of a sudden a good post or photo stops you in your tracks and you start reading. If the persons talking about food, especially if it’s something that you enjoy eating, you suddenly find that you are hungry?

I do that quite often. I’ll be cruising along minding my own business and then after seeing a few sites with photos of yummy looking food or talking about one of my favorite foods bang I’m starving and gee why do I have a craving for egg rolls all of a sudden? or peanut butter cups?

I wouldn’t be surprised if my upcoming post does that to more than a few people, so I’ll just say sorry in advance. Ok? Forgive me?

Illustrated name personalized gift

November 22, 2006 by Tricia

I found a very interesting site for those of you who might have a young child or perhaps a friend who has just had a baby. The website is called Illustrate My Name and they create personalised baby gifts. One of my good friends in Vancouver just had a baby boy and I’m seriously thinking of getting her baby one of these very special personalized gifts.

Illustrate my name creates personalized illustrations for children’s names. The products they make would make lovely birthday gifts, Christening gifts, and new baby gifts.

How does it work? You can have the child’s name illustrated in a theme of your choosing. You could pick a princess, seaside adventure, traditional toys and more. Each personalized gift is prepared individually and includes the specified name illustrated in your chosen theme for each letter of the name. The meaning and Country of origin of the name statement can be added as well.

The final print can be mounted and framed, or shipped without a frame. All of the illustrations are signed by the artist. Items sold and shipped in the UK take between 4 to 7 days, while orders outside the UK take approximately 14 days.

So does that sound good? Well how would you like to get one of these personalized illustrations FREE? THIS IS FOR THE UK ONLY.

Illustrate my name is doing a promotion where they will give away a free piece of personalized illustrated name art – excluding the frame – to the first 100 bloggers who blog about the site in a positive way. If you decide to enter into this promo (must be in UK) you need to write a post about Illustrate my name that includes a link back to the site www.illustratemyname.com with one of these two anchor text lines- “Unique Baby Gift” or “Personalized Baby Gift”.

In your post you can tell others about this UK only promotion by writing a line in your post similar to this one – “Illustrate My Name is giving away 100 free personalized name art pictures to the first people that blog about the site and includes a link and the correct anchor text”. If you decide to blog about Illustrate My Name please send an email to chris(@)illustratemyname.com that includes your blog url, and the link to the specific post in which you wrote your post about the company. You should also include your address and the child’s name and theme that they you would like to have made up into a print should you be one of the first 100 bloggers to have written about Illustrate my Name.

The Original Miss Piggy

November 22, 2006 by Tricia

Wordess Wednesday

1

I came across this photo and just about died! Do you remember Miss Piggy from Sesame Street or was it the Muppets … or both? Is she still on or not?

I’ve gotta get me a pair of those heart shaped glasses. Tres Chic.

I’d like to thank everyone that stopped what they were doing and went to vote for me in the 2006 Canadian Blog Awards. There are a lot of great blogs in the contest so I have no idea how I’ll do, but I’m thankful for all of the votes.

I’ll find out tomorrow if I made it into the top 5 for the Best Canadian Blog category. If I did, I’ll be asking for your help again when the second round of voting begins on Saturday Nov., 25th. I’ll let you know.

Religion and our family

November 22, 2006 by Tricia

My husband Chris comes from a very religious family, a catholic family, whereas I come from a mixed religion family. My mother was born a protestant, and my father was born into a Catholic family. The mixing of the two religions caused strife in the family on both sides, but as an observer I’d have to say that it was probably harder for my father to mix with my mothers family as her brothers treated him as an outcast. Heck, I witnessed them gang up on him and beat him up once when I was young. In my mothers case she was pretty much accepted into my fathers family but his oldest sister snubbed her in several ways and I think that might have gone back to the differences in their religious upbringing.

As children we were raised as Catholics. Well I should say the first four children were raised in a Catholic manner. I being the last, was not. My parents had become disillusioned by the ways the Catholic separate school system educated the kids, and perhaps attempting to balance the two religions between the families took it’s toll and my parents had given up by the time I came around. As a result I’m the only child in the family to have attended public school throughout the course of my education.

Oh my parents did take me to church as a child but it wasn’t a “we must go every Sunday” type of thing. I was baptized, and confirmed in the Catholic Church just as anyone else who was raised as a Catholic has been.

My husband Chris was raised in the way my siblings were raised but even more so since both of his parents are Catholic. He attended Church every Sunday, was an alter boy, sang in the choir and played the organ for the occasional church service- all while being a bad boy rock ‘n roll teenager in a cover band touring North America. How he did all of that I’ll never know.

Chris was, as a matter of fact, raised right across the street from the church his family attended – and still attends. His mother also works in another Catholic Church as the church secretary.

I’ve found a site that is probably aimed more at the kind of Catholic that I am, as opposed to the type that my in-laws are. I wouldn’t say I’m a lapsed Catholic, more of a relaxed catholic. It seems that my in-laws don’t believe that you can be truly religious unless you attend church at least every Sunday, if not every single day (as my mother in law and my father in laws’ sister do). Whereas I tend to believe that you do not necessarily have to worship in the house of God (a Church) in order to be a good Catholic or a good person, as God is supposed to be all around us at all times. I’m certain that he sees me and hears my prayers in my home just as well as in my church.

All this rambling and I’m trying to tell you about the Catholic Show . A site that I’m very certain my in-laws would love. In fact I plan on emailing them a link to the site when I’m done writing this post. The Catholic show does weekly podcasts that seek to inspire Catholics to build their religion back up, to make it strong again. Not just strong as in for their own beliefs, but to make the Catholic religion as a whole a strong religion again. Their mission is to invite former Catholics back to the church and to support a Church vibrant and growing as never before. I’ll likely visit the site and listen to a few podcasts over the next few weeks in order to see if I think the goals of the Catholic Show will be successful.
