Graham Thomas English Rose

Yes, some of our roses are still blooming. They shouldn’t be but they most definitely are blooming. They do not look as lovely as these Graham Thomas English Roses do in this photo though. This photo was taken sometime this past summer. Probably in July.

I still haven’t managed to winterize my garden this year. I’m starting to think that I might not get it done. If I don’t cover up some of the plants it will be very interesting to find out how they do over our freezing cold winters.

Have any of you in cold areas been as slow as I am to take care of your yard before winter hits?

Gardeners, Plant and Nature lovers can join in every Sunday, visit As the Garden Grows for more information.

If i still had my garden i would have been slow at it this year too, because we’re having an unusually warmth fall over here. Very strange actually. Like the fall is several months late. I wonder if the winter will just suddenly be here one day- just like that or we’ll have it gradually coming.

That’s a lovely Rose, I almost bought that one once.

Oh…does it get cold up there?

I will be thinking of you as I scamper about it shorts and a t shirt today 🙂

Actually, I rarely scamper. Scampering is a young man’s game.

Girl you are talking to the world’s best procrastinator here! Don’t know if you remember or not, but the bulbs I was going to plant a month ago STILL aren’t in the ground! Hubby did some digging yesterday though, so I at least have holes now lol

These yellow roses are magnificent – not only in color but in size as well!

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have those beautiful roses flowering all year round? But perhaps we wouldn’t appreciate them so much then. They are stunningly beautiful.

Although we get heavy frost during our winters we’re lucky in that we don’t really have to move or protect any of the plants. The frosts have usually melted by about 9.00am and we usually have a fine sunny day to follow. We don’t have frost or snow lasting for days on end.

Right now we could do with some cooler weather and lots of rain, but summer officially starts on Friday (Dec. 1st.) so there’s not much chance of that now.
