White lions

Aren’t these the most magnificent creatures?

Our Toronto Metropolitan Zoo had a white lion or white tiger a few years ago. Yes I think it was a white tiger.

It was on loan from another zoo and I got to go and see it while it was here. It’s just amazing to see such rare animals, especially when you realize that albino or melanistic? animals often don’t survive long in the wild because they stand out far too much and are more easily picked off by predators. Of course a white lion or tiger would probably have better odds at surviving in the wild since they are major predators.

Do you go to your local zoo every now and then? I haven’t been to ours for two years or so, but in past years I’d always try to get to the zoo at least twice a year.

Absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately, I don’t have a zoo near me. Unless you consider my house a zoo.

So…it’s mostly a matter of getting them to hold still while you paint them?

We went to the zoo in Jacksonville a couple of weeks ago. It was fun!

I wish we had animals like that at our zoo- I don’t think you’d like to see the ones we have here in Xining China!
