Creatures that visit my garden

A snacking gray squirrel. Isn’t he or she cute? As long as the squirrels are eating bulbs that they’ve dug up from my garden beds, my strawberries, digging holes or climbing on my bird feeders – they’re welcome. Otherwise I don’t want them in my yard. I guess you could say it’s and on again off again war.

This is a Pink Spotted Hawks moth.

This is what tomato hornworms turn into after their done munching on our tomato plants.

This moth really did look like a small hummingbird as it flitted around my garden a couple of years ago. I’ve seen a few of them every year except for this year. I’ve only ever seen them at dusk or after dark.

What kind of creatures do you have in your yard? We have several people on GTS that are from Australia – can you show us some of your garden wildlife sometime?

Don’t forget to visit As the Garden Grows for another GTS post.

Gardeners, Plant and Nature lovers can join in every Sunday, visit As the Garden Grows for more information.

We have lots of squirrels in our neighborhood. As a matter of fact, squirrel-watching through the windows is a favorite sport of our indoor cats and the dogs love to bark them up the trees.
The most invasive critters I have in my flowerbeds are the neighbor’s pets.

So far I have only seen the one frog, bunches of bees & butterflies, and many many squirrels!

Your moth is very pretty! I love how God dressed nature! What a master artist!

    Happy Sunday!

How did you ever get that picture of the moth? That’s amazing!

We have many similar tree rats in Cul-de-Sac, they keep burying oak acorns in our back yard… they’re kinda pesty… but cute nonetheless

Wow! That moth is almost scary! Could be something to show on Halloween 😉 We have nothing of that sort over here. Only smaller ones. And very few smaller bats.

What a lovely picture of the squirrel, I love them. They are so inquisitive little creatures.

In our back yard we have birds mainly.. oh and the odd frog. Next door have a huge pond and they always seem to find there way over to us.. Just today we found a baby frog so we popped him back under the fence.. hope he found his way home!

Well, I think that you may have seen the chipmunk that we had living in our garage. Does that count as garden wild life? He does make his way over to my bushes from time to time to eat some leaves or whatever they eat.

Ah, I have seen those moths around! I’ll have to be certain I’m diligent with searching the tomato plants!
