When the squirrels tick us off we call them Rats with Tails. They haven’t been too bad this year but just this past week or so they’ve been finding some of my spring bulbs and digging them up. Silly creatures!

Happy Wednesday! Don’t forget to visit Odd Planet and As the Garden grows. Both sites have WW posts up.

Your shots are always so cool. We still haven’t attracted any squirrels here. I think it is the big dog next door! Mine is still up! LOL Have a great day!

Awww, I know they’re a pest in some places but they’re so cute.

Wow! Great shots. Sorry about them being such pesky critters, though.

That’s the first time I’ve ever seen such a dark-hued squirrel. (The 1st pic) Are they always such a charcoal-gray in your area?

Oh he looks like the little guy we have here we call rat-tail.
He is that size in body but his tail never got fluffy.

Gross rats…we have lots of that at home!!! anyone?

This squirrel is actually a little bit on the small side, maybe it’s a juvenile.

Stacy – I’m in Ontario and our squirrels here are black and grey. I’d say that about 70% are black, and 30% grey. When I was growing up in Ottawa I can remember occasionally seeing a red squirrel but I haven’t seen a red one in years.

I’ve been having fun with our international boarders. All three that we’ve had hadn’t been familar with squirrels, racoons or skunks and it was fun to watch them when they saw some of these creatures for the first time. Our latest boarder was totally fascinated and followed a squirrel to the base of a tree and took photos of it chittering at him last Saturday when we went to the beaches and a downtown garden/park.

To be honest with you – I have never, ever seen a black squirrl…Thank you so much for sharing. I know it is a pain to have the yard dug up, but he is still cute.
    Happy Wednesday.

I know a lot of people think of squirrels as rodent but I think they’re so cute. Maybe it’s because we don’t have them running around wild here.

So adorable! I would rather have them than the garden.

That is probably the minority opinion…

Ive never seen a black squirrel but we do have some pesky brown squirrels here. They do not like the cats and dogs very much:). Mine is up.

We don’t have squirrels in my country so I am just wondering if they are causing any damage to your garden?

Thanks for dropping by. Happy Wednesday!

Well, since I don’t have javascript enabled, I can’t leave a link, other than in here with the comments. It’s so much faster to surf the blogroll that way.

This is one gorgeous squirrel. I’ve never seen a black one before in life…only red and gray. Hmmmmmmm, I would consider myself lucky to see one of these on my birdfeeder. He’s so pretty.

    My W W is posted

Wow, I’ve never seen a black squirrel. He’s kinda pretty; but then it’s not my flowerbed he’s digging up. I’m sure I’d call him a rat too if he was doing that here.

Thanks for visiting my WW. BTW, my daughter is 6. Have a wonderful Wednesday. 🙂

Decorated tree rats are evil! Kill em all- well… at least the ones that live close by me…. the ones at the park are kinda cool.

I always try to take pics of the squirrel that runs by my apartment, but he is too quick for me! I don’t think I have ever seen a black squirrel before!

I added another post for today. It is about a charity event a bunch of knitters are involved in.
This is my first big craft project since I have been in recovery mode for my brain injury…. So I posted a pic of what I am doing.

That’s a different shade of squirrel than I have ever seen before. Thay may be cute but they can be a pain in the butt.
    Just got mine posted.

I’ve only seen a black squirrel once in my life…they’re just not common here in Tennessee.

Our squirrels have torn up every bird feeder I’ve hung in our maple tree out front. Even the so-called “squirrel proof” ones!

I’ve never seen a black squirrel before, we have brown squirrels and they are always getting into my bird feeders. Cute little buggers.

We have those real fat grey ones that make me laugh…they have hair coming out of their ears. I grew up with brown ones and this one in the photo is black! Neat looking but I agree they can be a pest.

    Thanks for sharing.

I like the pictures and they’re not pests unless you’re trying to feed birds. We have the smaller black squirrels here in Royal Oak, Michigan and I’ve seen them in the Akron, Ohio area too. I have taken some cool pictures of cardinals and I have some of the rabbits in my backyard, but not black squirrels yet.
