My site’s worth what?!?!?

May 15, 2010 by Tricia

Ha … A few years ago I set up Google alerts for all of my husband and I’s websites and blogs. An alert just came in for this blog – Feverishthoughts.com from a website called Yandalo.com estimating this domains worth at $110,486.36!

Hmmm I’m not quite sure I believe that. I have six subdomains on this domain which means there are seven sites associated with this domain in all and while they all have page rank, and very good site traffic as well as a combined low Alexa score I’m not sure the domain is worth that much.

Still it’s kind of cool to see an estimated value like that.

Maybe I’d better start taking my daily multivitamin and work harder on my sites so that someday they really might be worth that much!

Have you ever checked any of the sites that estimate the value of a domain out to see how much your site is worth? If you have do you think the site under or over estimated the value of your site?

That’s pretty cool. Even if it’s not right completely, it still means your site is worth a ton. Congrats!

That is pretty cool, but I wonder if it is like those guys that go around telling you what your house is worth without regard to what someone would actually pay for on the open market.

My guess is that the numbers between worth and market value are pretty different.

But having said that, you have a great blog with great traffic, so it probably is worth quite a bit.

Haha You’re sitting on a goldmine. Who knows how people estimate the value of a website. I remember when the internet was new and sites with people’s first names were asking for a million dollars from anyone that wanted to buy.

I think your blog is cool, so hope those figures are right! I can not calculate worth of my site here, maybe Yandalo.com is not working at the moment (but my site is new, so probably value is few USD). I also have blog with some good traffic – PR 3 and on different web site calculator I get so much different numbers, some of them are making me happy, but some of them very sad:-(

Congrats and don’t underestimate yourself. I like reading your posts, just as all your visitors I come back quite often to read what’s new. You should instead take advantage of that estimate and do something about it ๐Ÿ˜‰

These guesstimations of site value always crack me up. It’s funny that they say your website is worth that much but imagine a different scenario where you run a site which is bringing in lots of visitors and they estimate it very low… ๐Ÿ™ the later happened quite a few times on some of my old sites.

LOL! Maybe you should try to put it out on the market and see what you can get for it! ๐Ÿ™‚

No Glenn I’m not interested in selling this blog. It has 6 other blogs attached to it in sub directories so that would mean I’d have to sell 7 blogs! I’m not ready to give them up.
