Mud Dog

On Sunday we took our puppy for a hike in Taylor Creek Park here in Toronto.

As you can see she found a wet area that was more mud than water!

She was playing with another dog and they disappeared on a trail in the forest for a few minutes and when they came out the Collie had grey boots and well … Midnight had a mud covered grey snout, and ugh … I guess most of the front of her body was mud covered as well.

She tried to shake the mud off …

But she didn’t do that great of a job.

Luckily for us and the other dog owner, the dogs found some cleaner water to play in a little while later.

We didn’t let the dogs near the mud puddle on the way back.

Oh life with a dog! It’s fun at times, isn’t it?

Interesting. I saw the first photo out of context and thought “what an unusual dog”…then I read the story and saw the additional photos and it all made sense.

Is there anything looks happier than a dog whose just discovered how much fun it is in the mud? Great photos, they made me smile:)

What a terrific post. Great pics! I love your dog! That is one pup that had a taste of (mess) heaven. Wish we could learn to play like that, without always worrying about dirty clothes or messy hair… Wouldn’t that make the world a much better place? Thanks for bringing us a smile.

You can sure tell she is a lab. My daughter has a yellow lab, and if there is water anywhere she will be in it.

Hate to see what your car looked like afterward! But she’s cute, so I guess you forgive her.

Heh, heh… looks like she had fun – and look at her muddy tongue! Hugo did the same this summer, but then he laid down in the mud and rolled over… it was so funny to see and he seemed to be enjoying it so much I didn’t even try to stop him.

Thanks for all of your comments. Yes she had a great time that day and as I said near the bottom of the post she found some cleaner water to take a dip in with the other dog so both dogs were a lot cleaner by the time we got them back to our cars … no mud in the car or our home, but we did have to dry her off. It’s amazing how much water her fur holds!

I didn’t realize how much mud she had on her tongue until I looked at the picture .. .that must have tasted nasty! Well maybe to a dog it tasted great – who knows! LOL

It’s supposed to rain here tomorrow, but if it doesn’t we might take her out for a long walk at Taylor Creek again. Chris and I enjoy our walks there too. It’s a nice place and we can let her run off leash in the area owned by Hydro (electric company) so she gets some good exercise.

Those are some good pics. Our dog’s name is Midnight as well. Our dog is a male Boston Terrier. So far he has not discovered the joys of playing in the mud, thank goodness.
