My husband just had a severe reaction to honey of all things - and he had been able to eat it for years. Then one day last week - poof - he starts to swell up after snagging a spoonful from the jar. The allergist said that since he was currently reacting to local pollen (oak is bad here in Austin) that he was more sensitive to anything. A mild reaction was made worse because of this.

My eyelids started swelling back in Jan/Feb. I have no idea why and I’ve been to 3 doctors (GP, allergist, & dermatologist). We got a new black lab puppy, but we’ve always had a black lab. Although, I have been going to Pet’s Mart a lot lately, and I am allergic to dogs, so maybe it’s just too much dog dander all at once? I’m also looking into several other possibilities: cosmetics (propylene glycol), food, etc. I haven’t worn make-up for 2 months now and it’s gone down a little, but I can’t get it to go all the way down. This is really frustrating. Please let me know if you ever figure out your problem is and how to cure it. I’m willing to try just about anything right now. I’ve been eating local honey, too. Maybe I’ll cut that out of my diet for a while. I just wish I knew what it was, so I could avoid it.
