If this heat keeps up I’ll be at the beach!

We’re having a heat wave here in Toronto. Yesterday it got up to about 41 Celsius with the humidity … that’s about 105 F. Today is supposed to be just as hot, but we might get a thunder storm too.

When it’s this hot in Toronto, when we get thunder storms they are always severe! The last big one we had a week and a half ago knocked down trees all over my neighborhood. Actually my neighborhood was the worst hit in the city! You can read what I had to say about that if you’d like.

Anyway, I was thinking, if this heat keeps up I might just head to the beach. It’s usually several degrees cooler down by the water, and of course if I took a dip I’d cool off.

I posted this photo because I imagine that the beach will look like this later today as the storm starts coming in! I actually took this photo sometime last summer.

If I don’t end up going to the beach today, perhaps I will later in the week when the temperature is supposed to be a little more comfortable. If I do I can always join in a volleyball game at one of the many volleyball nets that the city has set up for us to use.

How are you surviving the heat?

Hot here (Chicago) too. The beach sounds nice but I have to work. Maybe I’ll send my son as my proxy.
    Enjoy Wednesday.

That picture could have been taken in a Portuguese beach. They are so alike. Even the sand has (at least seems) the yellowish color ours have here in the West coast. South coast has a more white sand.

I’ve been hearing about the sweltering heat over there; I have family and friends there who are just as adamant about hitting the beach to cool off.

This is great news for a Norwegian living in Oslo you know. Very often we get your weather some days after yours. I’m ready and I’m sure I can find a beach around here too:-)

105! Wow. It was about 90 here today and has not rained in many days. The beach looks so refreshing, but I am not close to one so I will have to settle for the pool.

You know, it’s weird, but I keep reading about all the 100+ temps in places up north, and as hot as Florida is, we hardly ever see it go over 100.

I am sure a weatherman could explain it to me.

    Hi, Tricia,

Kill me…more than 40 degree C ! In Malaysia, the highest temperature can go to 38 !

    Though I am in Malaysia, I live in Cameron Highlands…Yeah..cool here..;D below 20 degree C ..all year round.It’s a torture to me if I have to go down to cities…it’s hot…I can’t stand the heat,so I keep myself in air-conditioned room,shopping centre….;D

We’re totally landlocked here in Utah where we are also in the midst of a heat wave. 114 F here today – – – miserable. And no beach! Bury your toes in the cool, wet sand for me, will you?
