This Weeks Theme is Window

You want windows? I’ve got windows for you, plenty of them!

I took this photo in downtown Chicago when we went there for a visit in August. This photo didn’t make the cut for my photoblog but it’s perfect for this scavenger theme.

I would not want to have a job washing this buildings windows. You’d just finally get finished and you’d have to start all over again. Plus I’m afraid of heights so I don’t think I’d ever end up with a job as a window washer anyway.

Have a great Saturday!

Updated November 9th, 7:48 pm: Thank you for all of your comments. I really didn’t think any of you would want to wash this buildings windows! LOL I loved the creative ideas that you came up with to wash the window though like a fire hydrant filled with windex! Silly people. It would have been interesting if someone that does wash windows for a living had commented. I know it’s probably a lot easier to do this job now than it was 30 or 50 years ago, but it’s still a dangerous job. Even more dangerous in places like India or Asia where they make bamboo structures that the washers climb without ropes to clean the windows. Now that’s dangerous.

That last paragraph added for PPP ’cause this post was too short? I don’t get it.

How the heck do they get someone up there to clean all those windows?

Ok– Fab just gave me an idea… Perhaps they load a fire hydrant with windex, instead of water (incase you didn’t know that fire hydrants weren’t just for dogs peeing on them)

Then, once a month the local FD comes by with their hook & ladder and a skyscraper crane and sends some poor guy up the crane to blast the building with a firehose filled with windex.

Now, I wonder if that’s environmentally friendly?

    That’s a lot of ammonia

The guy might get hot tub lung if he breathes it in…

So he’s probably wearing a protective gas mask

Well, then the people inside the building would be scared and think he was a terrorist and flee the building.

So they either clean the windows at night so no one can see, or

I just made this up too.

Lovely. If you like interesting buildings, there is one here in Osaka called the Umeda Sky Building. If you google it I’m sure it will come up. It has an odd shape too.

Oh, yes there are enough windows (lol) I have seen this yesterday but
as we are about 7 h earlier in Europe, we had the pleasure of NO blogging at all ! No publishing, no comments NOTHING worked. After 13 h I gave up and went to bed. And of course I couldn’t put any comments and nothing arrived either. It’s a shame !
