Her latest thing is that she doesn’t like her crate door closed … this is when she’s not in it. We’ll let her out in the morning and she’ll do things with us or play with her toys, chew her bone and so on, but when she notices that we’ve closed her crate door (because it’s easier for us to get by if it’s closed) she’ll walk up and nose it open, wide open. If I close it the next time I walk by she’ll get up and open it again.

The other night I sat beside her near her crate and while the door was open I pulled it towards me by a few inches as if I was closing it and she’d shove her nose between the crate door and my hand and nose it further open. She did this several times until I started laughing at her.

She also loves to blow bubbles in her water with her nose. She’s done this from day one in our home.

Plus when we give her a real beef bone, you know one of those huge ones that you can get in the pet store, she gnaws off one end so that it’s hollow and then she loves sticking her nose in the bone for several minutes at a time. She’ll just sit there with her nose in the bone, then she’ll take her nose out and snuffle against the bone and repeat the steps.

I caught her in the act on Saturday evening when we were enjoying some time in the backyard:

As you can see she’s got three or four inches of her nose firmly stuck into the hollow end of the bone. She sat like that for at least two minutes before taking her nose out.

Weird I tell ‘ya.

What strange things do your pets do?

Sorry guys, I’m a major klutz myself and I’m sure some of the stuff I’ve done in the past would have had you rolling in your seats if it’d been caught on tape, but it wasn’t. So there!

Guys just seem to put themselves into situations where funny and stupid things can happen. Here, have a look:

It looks like this puppy is afraid of the dinosaur image on the bag doesn’t it? I’m not surprised … the Dinosaur head is bigger than the dog!

I’ll be that puppy would like to do some DNA testing on that dinosaur to find out if the species was a herbivore or carnivore! Actually I’m not even sure that dog is a puppy. it looks like one, but it’s possible that it’s an adult small dog.

Why? Well this weeks she’s been a farting machine!

She’s never been one to pass much gas. Oh occasionally when she’s squatted to do a movement we’ll hear a little phwtttt, but that’s about it.

She was just lying on the floor sleeping near me a few minutes ago and I actually heard her fart five or six times! Stinky ones too!

We haven’t changed her diet (well other than to eliminate Nutro Natural Choice Large breed puppy food about a month ago due to concerns as several dogs have fallen severely ill or died after eating it lately!) or anything else. The only big change for her is that she went into heat a week ago Wednesday or Thursday (10 or 11 days ago). I’m really starting to think that hormonal changes might be causing her gas.

I wonder if her gas is causing my headache? There’s a little more methane in the air these days - in my home at least! Yes - I still have a headache/migraine - it seems to change in severity so I’m calling it a combo. I’ve had this headache since sometime Monday … about the time Midnights farts really started up. See … there might be a connection.

I wonder if you can give dogs Beano? If you can maybe I could add a few drops to her meals for a day and see if it helped?

I’d bet that having mice crawling all over your head would be a little creepy … even more so if you are a cat who wants to eat the mice!

I have no idea why she’s more gassy than usual. We haven’t changed her diet - well other than to eliminate Nutro Natural Choice a couple of weeks ago (rumors that it’s making a lot of dogs sick!), but she’s on her other regular food so that shouldn’t have made a big difference.

She did go into heat on Thursday. Yeah, we haven’t had her spayed yet. We were going to at the end of August when Chris is on vacation but I guess we’ll have to wait until mid to late September now. I wonder if the change in her hormones might have made her more gassy?

She must have been full of gas the other evening. Chris came home from work, fed her, her dinner and then took her for a walk and when he came back he said that she was farting as she walked. Not only was she farting but she was wiggling her bum around as she walked, I presume to help get the farts out. LOL I wished I’d seen that. It sounds like it was a funny sight and her farts were fairly loud so much so that Chris was looking around to see if anyone was nearby to hear them! I guess he was afraid that someone would have thought it was him.

A little while ago she was lying near me on the floor and she was passing gas in her sleep. You know - those silent but deadly ones? I had to wake her up so that she’d move away from me!

I guess I’m glad we don’t have a bull dog (they fart all the time!). At least Midnight only has gas every once in a while, maybe less than my husband does!

Now other than the farts, if they’d stop running those darn acne products commercials repeatedly all day I’d be happy. I think I can probably recite two or three of them word for word by now.

Nothing like a snow cone to help you cool off on a hot summer day. This cats got the right idea. Just look at it’s tongue though! Psychedelic!

What was this girl thinking?

I think this outfit would be a great “before” shot for that show “What Not to Wear” on TLC. Seriously .. look at her platform boots? Let alone what goes for hair and the wild mix of colors.

I’m sure she’s got some interesting makeup on too. It’s too bad we can’t see more of her face in this picture.

This is truly only something I could do. I’m such a spaz!

Yeah … well … I was eating breakfast while working on my laptop. Consider this a lesson learned.

I leaned over to write something down on a piece of paper and PLOP went one half of a bagel covered in cream cheese onto my keyboard. Wrong side up of course!
Ugh!

What a mess!

I took the photo that you see above after I’d swiped at the cream cheese covered keys with a paper towel. It looked much worse before I wiped it.

I quickly realized that if I continued to try to wipe the cream cheese off the keyboard that I’d probably end up pushing it into the cracks between the keys and likely under the keys as well. So I went upstairs and I got several q-tips so I could try to clean the keys without pushing the cream cheese all over the place.

My husband was home since it was his day off. He was just shaking his head at me as if I do this every day! Then he remembered that we happened to have toothpicks in the kitchen, so he brought me the box and I started using them to pick the cream cheese from between the keys.

The toothpicks worked great!

As I cleaned the keys I also discovered that there was quite a bit of dust under the keys … well more than dust - more like dust balls and surprisingly quite a bit of my very fine auburn hair! Bleh! Who knew I was losing so much hair! I sure didn’t.

Considering the fact that I ended up cleaning dust balls from the whole keyboard I’d say that it took me well over an hour - perhaps even two hours to clean the keys. I even finished up by vacuuming the laptop and keyboard to get all the fine dust that I’d loosened with the toothpicks. Then I gave the keys a swipe with a rubbing alcohol soaked cotton ball to give it a final cleaning.

After all that, the laptop looks almost brand new again! I didn’t realize how dirty it really was. Thankfully I didn’t spill liquid on the keyboard … at least the cream cheese dried out a bit and started to flake off after a while.

Oh yeah, the puppy got in on the action too once I pulled out the vacuum. She loves that thing! So she got a vacuum too. Hey … she’s shedding - I’m pretty sure I vacuumed some of the loose hairs right off her.

What’s the worst thing you’ve spilled or dropped on your keyboard? And did you manage to clean it off?

I found a blooper reel that has a lot of funny (and sometimes painful looking) bike related bloopers. It’s got everything from kids on bikes crashing into things to adults doing dumb things with bikes and even exercise bikes.

Now I’m extremely accident prone. You might remember me taking about falling a lot a year or so ago. I had one accident where I was just walking down the street and for some reason I lost my balance and stumbled and ended up falling flat on my face - severely injuring my chin. It wasn’t funny at the time, but I know I staggered a few feet trying to stay upright and I’m sure if someone had caught it on film it would have been funny on a blooper reel.

I think the worst klutzy thing I ever did was falling down the stairs and landing on my in-laws brand new Delsey luggage. The bags were ok but I was banged up!
