I recently watched the Figure Skating Event. But I would love to watch Hockey too! Hopefully I can find the time to do that. I should say GO CANADA too!

Hello Tricia, I’m Italian so I prefer to watch the Figure Skating Event (thanks to Kostner) and skiing events but I like hockey and I will support Canada team for you!

One more win and they are going for gold. Should be a good one tomorrow against Slovakia. Just watched the women’s team beat USA 2-0 for gold.

Congrats to Canada! I truly thought the USA would win.

Hi Tricia,
It kind of makes sense you are down with cold as it is pretty cold over there in Canada…I also have a cold while it is a middle of summer here Down Under :) Mine is not too bad as yours though. Now to the hockey… Canada is always my second favourite team (sorry about that) as I can’t help my sympathy towards the Finish. They are going well just beat he Swedish as you probably know. You guys got the women’s gold which is awesome and the man team walked over the Russians so it is all looking good for a gold for Canada. Well done.
Enjoy the rest of the games.

Sheds – while I agree with you that it’s probably colder here in Canada than it is in Australia (especially since it’s winter here and summer there) we’re having a fairly warm winter here. It sounds like you’ve been watching the Olympics so you probably know that it’s way warmer in Vancouver than it’s been in oh 114 years! LOL I’m in Toronto and we’ve barely had any snow and as I said it’s been fairly warm (spring like), although it’s just turned cold as of yesterday, but I’m sure we’ll be out of that again soon.

I’m really proud of our Canadian womans hockey team. They brought home the gold! yeah! And did you notice that the Fins got the bronze? All the teams did well, there were some pretty good games!

I hope that our Canadian Mens hockey team gets a chance to play for the gold. They have to beat Slovakia this evening first! If they win that game then they’ll either play Finland or the USA on Sunday for the Gold. It should be interesting.

Hope you get well soon. Extra sleep, extra vitamins, eat fruits.

I’m enjoying the Olympics also.

Go Canada! Go! I watched that Kramer that switched to the bad line. I find it so funny how people like to make a big deal about it. “If he haven´t heard of his coach” etc. People are so focused on the past and they like so much to torture themselves with unuseful thoughts… Sad but true!

Congratulations to all the medal winners. I will miss watching all of the Olympic events on TV!
My suggestions for your cold…cherry chest rub to your neck for the sore throat (I find this works wonders), and Vicks vapor rub on the soles of feet ( cover with socks) at night prevents cough.
Good luck, hope you feel better soon.

I’m from the USA – so yes, naturally I cheer our Olympians.

But here in Texas, we value good neighbors. So when team USA was out of the race we felt proud to cheer on Canadian athletes almost as if they were our own, and we enjoyed seeing them standing tall and looking good.

As for the hockey game, all I can say is, “What a game it was!”

Think about it, we weren’t even considered a real contender and darn near stole the gold.

Overall, what an exciting Olympics. And you can bet that after seeing the beauty of BC, the tourists are going to flock there in droves come spring and summer.

Great job neighbor.

p.s. how ’bout them USA bob sledders, eh?

This year’s winter olympics were the most watched ever, yet I must say I didn’t watch it all that much. Like you, I struggled with a bad cold for about ten of those 17 olympic days, and I worked my tail off through it all, leaving little time to watch TV as usual. For some reason I’m more drawn to Summer’s games.

I watched us take the gold yesterday afternoon on tv at work (hey, I did work too ;) )

I regret not making the trip to experience the amazing atmosphere and see some of the athletes perform. I am wistful that they are over…what a moment for Canada!

I have been to the 2002 Salt lake Olympics !
It was one of my best memories ever, since I marched into the field with the Israeli team.
We had only 5 sportsmen, which the Skates couples took six’th place, in the IceSkate dance competitions.

I loved the canadian ‘ice dancing’ flamenco routine, watched it all the way from Australia, in the sweltering heat!!!
