LED is the way to go. LED's are the future of all lighting. But the manufacturers need to figure out how to make them burn out faster if they want us to keep buying.

Thankfully we avoided buying a DLP a few years back. My husband is always keen on the newest gadgets but t sounds like we dodged a bullet. Ultimately, we chose to go with a decidedly "lower tech" panasonic tv and that thing has lasted forever. As my husband admits "It ain't pretty, but it works."

DLP screens can be viewed from a fairly wide angle from the center of the television with no problem, but they absolutely must be viewed at eye level for the best picture as the brightness of the picture falls off rapidly when viewed either above or below eye level. This can restrict where you place them for best viewing position in your room and should be a point taken into consideration before purchase.

Early models are always difficult. Plasmas are better for 42" and over. Below that size, an LED is better. Our 42" plasma is excellent.

Yes, DLP's are a lot of maintenance and do not give as great of a picture as LCD or LED. I have personally not seen a LED tv. What ever you do though do not buy a plasma!
