I have had the same problem. That's def a problem with renters! You don't know what you're going to get and if they are friends of the previous neighbors, then.... But I do wish you the best of luck! Thanks for sharing!

We also have new neighbours as well. Was a bit noisy when they were doing up the house but it's much better now. However, didn't have a chance to get to know them as we are not in the house much and the only time we get to see them are when we are leaving for our offices.

Good luck with the new neighbors. Have learned like you to stand back before connecting. It can be the people you think are not going to work out that turn out to be the best neighbors.

Minnesota Lawyer - Oh we've met the neighbors - prior to them moving in when they were checking out the house, when they moved in and a few times in the week and half since they moved in. They are nice enough to talk to, bt they are doing a few things that make us Leary of them.

That's pretty funny. We recently got new neighbors too. We were disappointed to lose our old neighbors. (Their daughter was my kid's babysitter). There's always a little anxiety with new neighbors. I say - head over and introduce yourself!

Janyne - the thing is my husband is usually very optimistic! There's only one or two people that i know of that he's met and decided that he didn't like ... no matter how bad they turned out to be! So this is very uncharacteristic of him. I'm usually the one to be skeptical and possibly distrust a person until they've done something to prove their worthy of my trust and friendship.

Hebden yes I keep hoping that some neighbors will move into that house that we'll really get along well with, but that hasn't happened so far. We're friends and or friendly will all the rest of our neighbors. Of course the rest of our neighbors own their homes and it's in everyones best interest to get along and at least be friendly and mindful of others, right ... but with renters who only plan to stick around for 6 months or so ... it seems to be a whole other attitude.

I do think that our former neighbors son has the rent set to low. It's only something like $1000! You can't even rent a bachelor apartment in a decent area of this city for that low a price ... so maybe if the new renters move out in the near future and the owners decide to keep on renting we'll suggest they up the price by $400 or so. That should bring a better class of renter into the neighborhood.

I'm saying this because it seems the new renters just don't care (just like the last ones). Today they were blasting music so loud I could feel it and our houses aren't attached to each other! I felt bad for their neighbor on the other side (who's house is attached to theirs) because she's in her 80's and I'm sure it was really loud and irritating for her.

Why is it that some people who rent homes just don't care about their closest neighbors?
