My mother-in-law is completely charming so I guess I can count myself lucky. My own mother is a wonderful person but must be one of the most frustrating people I know. He doesn't understand technology and doesn't want to. He hates computers especially. He is very frugal, but loves to take pictures. One year my Mom decided to get him a digital camera for his birthday. She wanted me to come over and show my Dad how to operate it. He was mad that she had given it to him, and said "show your Mother". I told him to pretend it wasn't a digital camera and just take pictures. Fortunately my Mom had bought a camera with a viewfinder. He still won't touch a computer but he loves his digital camera.
