Wow! I’ve never imagined that this kind of house ever existed. The design was great and near to the sea. I love it!

My life is built around water and this is a bit much for me even! Is that a small drawbridge I see on the side of the house?

I’m glad to see that pretty much everyone thought that this was an interesting picture. I found it on the internet and while I thought the house looked kind of cool I certainly wouldn’t want to live in a home so close to the water. All I could think of was high tide, hurricanes and other natural disasters.

I’m fairly certain that no insurance company would give out home insurance for this house … or if they did it would be at a very high price!

It’s called erosion – there probably used to be a nice area of beach between the house and the water. Whenever there is a hurricane or northeaster here in the Va Beach area the houses get closer and closer to the water. There is a strip of beach called Sandbridge that has lost a number of houses due to beach erosion.
