A tripod helps a lot when shooting fireworks, and if your camera allows it, set the aperture as high as you can — that way you don’t have to think about the shutter speed and it’ll all be in focus — and use a remote control or cord to click the shutter. As for aiming, most fireworks explode in roughly the same spot, so as long as you don’t try to tightly frame in, you should capture them. It’s been a long time since I shot any, but I remember shooting off a big roll of film just to get a couple I liked. Have fun! And Happy Canada Day!
