I am in the Philly area and there is quite a lot of building around here.I agree, it is a slippery slope. I am a strong believer in city planing and zoning. If there are appropriate governing tools and markers in place, then commercial building should not be an issue. the trouble is finding that balance. Thanks for the good read! Dave

Sometimes it can get annoying when great views are blocked by construction. But it isn't exactly the fault of the construction workers or even people purchasing that land. The city should recognize great spots and views that are valuable to its residents and refrain from allowing this space to be used for apartments and other such construction

I'm not terribly happy about the construction in general, but being in the roofing business, I guess it's hard to complain. Having a love for proper city planning and great architecture, as well as a strong belief in the preservation of interesting buildings, it would be great if cities took a bit more time to plan things out, rather than just going for development when times are good. You know?

In my city, we are facing this issue in certain parts of town. In some parts, more commercial development is welcome. In others, there is huge backlash where residents feel they had something unique and it is being destroyed by typical commercial buildings. So I feel for you, because there are just some places that should be left as they are.
