I gave them a try the same way you did, and I have to say I agree on the lingering burning taste after the lime wore off. I’m content with the original nacho cheese at this point. I’m kind of scared of what they’ll come up with next.

Why can’t companies stick with what works anymore? :sigh:

I don’t think we have that flavour over here yet, but I would like to try as I love lime. But I could imagine if you have Crohn’s, you’d better stay away for it?

Chilli Cheese Lime – that doesn’t sound tasty at all. I would give those doritos a try, if I got stranded on a island or maybe I prefer starving to death. Death or Chilli Cheese Lime Doritos? Not an easy choice for me ;-)

I haven’t tried them, I am very afraid of them. *shutter* but thanks for the review

Whoever came up with such an odd flavour?

Dish said in October 11th, 2007 at 4:02 pm

Oh how I hate Spicy foods. I won’t even try any spicy doritos. Some says, that if you feel something like that on your throat, just drink glasses of cold water or eat something sweet. :)

The way you described it makes me want to grab one right away.

No way! I’ll stick to regular nacho cheese flavor.

Krissy yes the new Doritos were an interesting experience to say the least. Neither my husband or I will buy them again though. I don’t eat chips of any kind very often, but if I’m going to eat Doritos nacho or a zesty cheese flavor would be my choice.

Tricia said in October 12th, 2007 at 2:26 pm

Dee if you like lime you might like these, but as I said it took a few chips before I really even tasted the lime and once I did I didn’t really like the flavors it was mixed with.

True – Doritos or any kind of tortilla chip is not very good for me and my Crohns. The flavours don’t matter as much as the corn flour believe it or not. Believe me if my husband had really liked the taste of the Doritos there wouldn’t have been any left in the bag! LOL As it was he was smart enough to only leave me enough to get a taste and form an opinion, and my opinion is a resounding thumbs down.

Tricia said in October 12th, 2007 at 2:28 pm

“Death or Chilli Cheese Lime Doritos? ” LOL that’s a good one. I think I’d eat the chips if dying were the only other choice.

Tricia said in October 12th, 2007 at 2:29 pm

Leigh yes you’d probably be good to stay away from them. I think this is definitely the kind of flavor that’s best to try before you buy. There’s nothing worse that say buying a large bag of chips and finding that you and everyone else in the house totally hates the flavor.

Tricia said in October 12th, 2007 at 2:31 pm

Jean-Luc I have absolutely no idea what the inventor was thinking when they created these Doritos. Hey they say there’s no accounting for taste and this is truly a case that fits that statement. ;)

Tricia said in October 12th, 2007 at 2:33 pm

Dish I actually do like spicy food occasionally. Not so spicy though that you can’t taste the actually food that you’re eating. I don’t know how people can eat food with that much spice on it.

Oh and water isn’t the best if you eat something too spicy and find your mouth on fire. Bread – eat some bread and maybe some milk. Water just seems to liven the spices up in my opinion.

Tricia said in October 12th, 2007 at 2:34 pm

Pyramus – Well go ahead then. LOL I’d love to hear what you thought of this flavor if you do try it.

Tricia said in October 12th, 2007 at 2:35 pm

Chief – yeah that’s my opinion too. I love cheese flavored food … or better yet real cheese on or in food. Not too often though of course. ;)

Tricia said in October 12th, 2007 at 2:36 pm

Lifecruiser somehow I’m not surprised that this taste sounds interesting to you! Hey, love your new blog design and the scary greeting too!

Jack Page said in October 12th, 2007 at 6:31 pm

I have to admit, these sound horrible. With that said my curiousity is peaked and I’ll probably try them if I ever see them as they’ve yet to appear in any store I’ve been in recently. Maybe there’ll be a small bag in a vending machine somewhere.
