(wandered over via google search on Trillium). However, whoever sold that to you as Trillium grandiflorum had *no* clue -- that's Trillium erectum! It could have been white the first year -- I believe that it is a hybrid -- members of that group of Trillium hybridize quite easily. It would be interesting to track the flower color from year to year. It wouldn't surprise me if it can change! That is indeed a beautiful photo. (wandered over via google search on Trillium).
