How about reviewing direct without going through PayPerPost? Kinda troublesome to set up account et all. Will you consider reviewing for same price with direct paypal transfer of funds?

I read in another blog that PayPerPost was aproaching Blogers that registered with their competitors ReviewMe to acquire them for PPP. I don’t really think that is nice behavior by a company!

Oh Gosh! I think I over priced myself after reading this. On the other hand you may be underpricing yourself as I have already gotten people who wanted me to review their sites for a much higher amount even though my blog is only pr 4.

pablopabla - I’m not sure if you are asking for a review, or if you are just wondering if I’d also be willing to write reviews if they are requested directly rather than going through a middleman like Payperpost, ReviewMe, SponsoredReviews or another paid blogging company?

I have actually been doing private reviews of products and sites for a long time. I don’t have a problem with that as long as the advertiser is willing to pay the agreed upon fee before hand, preferably through paypal, with no extra fees taken off the payment by paypal. Oh and that their request is reasonable and is something that fits with one of my blogs.

Payperpost direct is a new thing, and for advertisers and bloggers who want the security of having a middle man handle the funds/ payments, making sure jobs are recorded for tax purposes and so on - I do think it’s a great idea.

It’s certainly a lot cheaper for an advertiser to use Payperpost direct than it would be for them to use normal Payperpost (35% fee on top of op price), ReviewMe (blogger only gets 50% of fee), or SponsoredReviews (blogger only gets 65% of post bid).

PPP direct only charges 10% on top of whatever the blogger charges, so you can see other than a blogger and advertisers directly negotiating between themselves it’s the cheapest option.

If you are requesting a review please do contact me. :)

Filme Tauschen - Yes there was someone going around on Thursday contacting bloggers and telling them that they could do better with PPP direct.

This person was apparently a consultant hired by Payperpost BUT payperpost did not authorize that person to go around spamming bloggers. Once they found out they put a halt to this mans actions and they were quite upset that this happened.

I do not hold that against Payperpost. The whole situation has been discussed extensively on the payperpost forums. It was tacky and I hope that the consultant no longer works for them. Again, they did not authorize this activity.

Adam - yes I have under-priced my reviews. I did this on purpose. As I said in the title of my post this is a special short time only offer. :)

I’m experimenting with the PPP direct system. I wanted to see if some advertisers would make some offers, and they certainly have! I charge quite a bit more on ReviewMe and SponsoredReviews - and still get lots of work from both companies, so I know I’m underpricing myself - A Lot!

I also have done a number of private reviews in the past too.

I think that PPP direct could be a really good thing - as I said, especially for bloggers and advertisers who like the security of having a middleman in the picture to handle the “paperwork” so to speak. Their service charge is relatively cheap compared to the other companies that I’ve mentioned, the blogger gets the whole fee that they list, and the advertiser can still cancel an order if they aren’t happy. That doesn’t happen in direct dealings.

Adam I’m glad to hear that you’ve already had success with PPP direct. :)
