Same Mike from the Aug 1 post. Hey, I came across a site that I thought you might like, and as a nurse, you might want to check out (along with your readers). It’s called Cosmetic Surgery Magazine. It just launched in early Oct. What makes it a great resource for anyone considering ps, is that it allows posts by both patients and plastic surgeons, so men and women get both sides of the story, the personal and the professional. Great post… and true. Unlike you, I’m not a medical professional, but I do work with a surgeon performing plastic surgery in Scottsdale and I agree… most of the people – women AND men – are simply hoping to fix what they perceive to be a problem… one they’ve been living with for years and one that’s hindered their quality of life. Obviously, not everyone who elects plastic surgery is Joan Rivers. Most patients just want to feel better about themselves and view plastic surgery as a way to help them accomplish that. And that’s okay. I think a lot of shows like nip/tuck, dr. 90210 kind of give the profession a bad name, because many times they show people getting things done for all of the wrong reasons. Here, you point out many of the right reasons they have things done. Thanks.
